Privacy Policy — OneVision Signage Player
Last updated: August 26, 2026
OneVision (an Octet Solutions platform, Ontario, Canada — "we," "our," "us") publishes the OneVision Signage Player, a digital menu-board application for Fire TV, Android TV, and Google TV devices, together with the player site at screen.onevision.io. The app is a display-only player that shows restaurant menu boards on business-owned televisions. It is used by restaurant operators — not by consumers — and this policy explains the limited data it handles, in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What the app collects
- No personal information. The app has no user accounts, no sign-up, and no forms other than a six-character pairing code.
- Pairing data. To link a TV to a business's menu, the app exchanges a short-lived pairing code and a randomly generated device identifier with our servers. These identify the television, not any person.
- Operational health. A paired device periodically reports whether it is online and what menu content it is displaying (including a snapshot of the rendered menu board), so the business's staff can confirm their menu is showing correctly. This content is the business's own menu — it contains no viewer or customer data.
What the app does not do
- No camera, microphone, location, or contacts access.
- No advertising, and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
- No collection of any data about people watching the screen.
Operator data (the management console)
Restaurant operators manage their menu boards from a separate management console using an account provisioned by OneVision through a manual onboarding process. The console stores the operator's business contact details (name, work email) solely to provide the service. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Storage and retention
Pairing records, device identifiers, and operational health data are processed and stored on Cloudflare's network. Device records are retained while a television remains paired and are deleted or anonymized when a device is unpaired or a customer relationship ends.
